Wijndomein Hoenshof is proud to offer the Grapedelicious ice wine. This delicious dessert wine is made from grapes grown in their vineyard. This vineyard is located in the beautiful hilly landscape of the Haspengouw, where the grapes thrive in the mild climate and rich soil. The grapes are picked by hand and carefully selected for ripeness and quality.
The Grapedelicious ice wine is made from frozen grapes that are pressed in a special way. The juice that is released is very concentrated and rich in sugars and aromas. This sweet and fruity taste is typical for ice wines, which can only be produced in very special conditions. The wine is therefore a real delicacy and is often served as a dessert wine on festive occasions.
The Grapedelicious ice wine has a clear, dark golden colour and in the first phase intense aromas of lots of citrus, followed by a light caramel aroma. A little later smoky notes emerge with again a light fruity caramel aroma. The taste is rich and sweet, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The wine has a medium-long aftertaste with a subtle bitterness at the end. The Grapedelicious ice wine is a delicious end to a dinner, but can also be drunk with a cheese platter or as an aperitif.
Wijndomein Hoenshof is very proud of this special wine, which was created through craftsmanship and passion for winemaking.
At the wine tasting of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du vin Limbourgeois, this ice wine Grapedelicious managed to win a gold medal. In doing so, the Hoenshof winery is following in the footsteps of internationally renowned ice wine houses. The Hoenshof winery is located in Haspengouw, in the middle of the fruit region. In this beautiful rolling landscape, the grapes and fruit flourish in abundance. GrapeDelicious ice wine is made with the best grapes selected from the Haspengouw vineyard. The process of cryoconcentration at -8 degrees Celsius and fermentation ensures a unique Belgian pearl.
The driving force behind Wijndomein Hoenshof is Ghislain Houben. The grapevines of Wijndomein Hoenshof are deeply rooted in the Haspengouw soil. The life roots of winegrower Ghislain Houben are at least as deeply connected to the Haspengouw terroir. His grandfather was born in this place in 1904 and the lands have been in family ownership ever since. In harmony with nature and the grape vine, he tries to make the finest wines year after year. This has become a life goal in itself.
