BLUE NUN is one of Germany's oldest wine brands. It has a long track record of producing quality wines, which is why these wines have found their way around the world. The brand is truly iconic. It all began in 1857 when Hermann Sichel started his wine business in Mainz. In 1921, H. Sichel Söhne established the BLUE NUN brand when they decided to honor the wine from the excellent 1921 vintage with a special new label: BLUE NUN. This brand immediately received the recognition it deserved and was served in restaurants including London's top Michelin-starred restaurants. In the early 1930s, a whopping 1,000 cases were shipped to the UK; at that time, it was exceptional for such a large quantity of the same brand to be sold. Today, this wine remains highly sought after internationally.
In 1995, Sichel merged with Langguth, creating BLUE NUN as it is today. The focus is on producing quality wine. This wine is continuously refined using state-of-the-art techniques. Over time, the wine has become slightly drier, while simultaneously developing a slightly fresher taste. The passion for continuously improving BLUE NUN wines has earned it the "Qualitätswein" label. Besides being a quality wine, BLUE NUN also focuses on the good things in life – sharing precious moments with friends and family, having fun, and simply enjoying life. It's no wonder BLUE NUN wines are exported to over 100 countries worldwide. BLUE NUN's refreshing, modern, and contemporary approach to winemaking is the key to its success.
The BLUE NUN quality is palate-worthy in this ice wine. Made from 100% Riesling, it's in a class of its own. BLUE NUN Ice Wine has a light golden color and is rich in fruit. A delicious ice wine for celebrations and desserts, or on its own.
This wine is delicious with:
Fruit desserts ; pate; blue-veined and aged spicy cheeses; spicy Asian dishes , black olive tapenade; or as an after-dinner drink
